What is UAC ?

UAC2 is a client side Anti-Cheat program, one that works across all games and provides the community with the power to find and shame cheaters in all multiplayer games, packaged in is the unparalleled security of players screenshots to ensure data remains as accurate as possible. UAC and UAC2 are FREEWARE for non-commercial use. You may say that selecting the name UAC (Universal Anti Cheat) was poor choice because of MS UAC (User Account Control) which is included in WinVista and Win7 , but the name was chosen at begining of year 2006 and there was no MS UAC at the time.

Put simply, UAC2 is only as good as you want to make it.

This is our second attempt at the Universal Anti-Cheat. You may or may not have known us from UAC4SWAT.
We have rebuilt the entire system from the ground up again, taking into account the lessons we learnt from UAC4SWAT.

We now feature better security, more reliability, faster performance, less in-game lag and best of all any multiplayer game can be protected.

On top of our major focus around security and ensuring screenshots are 100% accurate and real, we have developed a tool which allows you the responsible community member/league to develop definition files that will give you complete control of catching cheaters.
This feature gives you the power to say which cheats are not allowed and allows you the power to add new cheats to your definition file.

All this gives you the power to make UAC as good as you want to!

Who are we?

History of UAC

19.apr.2006 The first UAC was created by DExUS and it was a simple screenshot program with a FTP upload, no web interface nor database. Screens were not encrypted but protected with several special points within the image. A handful of users (30-40) used this application and requested if it is possible to add some cheat detections. At the time I was active player of SWAT4 and leagues were full of cheaters because this game does not contain any built in anticheat system. After long talks with ESL league admins the functions and information they requested was released in UAC v1.50 and included some SWAT4 cheat detections.
13.jul.2006 Around September of 2006 an admin of SWAT4 at ClanBase with the nickname Snipes was trying to introduce UAC into the rulesets for ClanBase, Snipes had the idea of extending UAC by adding in a server component to keep track of users actions and cheaters, it took a lot of debating but after some time Snipes convinced me we could work together to make a better product. At the beginning it was only a small database consisting of GUID's of cheating players. It was designed so the admins can easy identify the cheating person and kick him out of the league. The database system grew fast and after 2 months of usage and contained so much useful information for league admins, that we decided to make it also available for the public with much better look and increased functionality.
At the same time UAC:Embedded was in development which was integrated anticheat for Swat4, but since the extreme load and poor coding of Swat4 itself it was not received well because of lack of any interface and the poorly made web page by DExUS :) , after 2 months it was discontinued.
14.jan.2007 After cooperation between Snipes & DExUS version v3.00 was released to the public. It was well received by most users and admins and the major improvement came in the form of user accounts with automatic file tracking & handling (prior to this there was no user accounts and screenshots were maintained manually, crazy I know!).
This is also the date when the domain www.uac4swat.net went live.
As of 26.jun.2009 UAC4SWAT has 10262 registered users and it has done over the period of it's existence 1,411,736 screenshots and has since been replaced by UAC2.
06.mar.2009 After several years and many updates (version of UAC4SWAt at the day was v4.982), DExUS and Snipes decided to make use of our experience with leauge admininstration and anti-cheat development and we redeveloped from the ground up our second attempt at a Universal Anti-Cheat.
24.jul.2009 1st UAC2 version was compiled, it was PRE ALPHA and contained nothing but looks and interface, along with some of the fundamental communication & security procedures in place.
After few months of PRE ALPHA testing we had gathered 23 players / testers for ALPHA testing which lasted about a month with us working hard a fast to put in a lot of basic core functionality.
All the testers are mentioned in the ABOUT section in UAC2 application and we thank them for their support and help!
15.jun.2009 @ 20:00 Public BETA of UAC2 was released, along with the release of major functions of the new web site. Progressed then continued with Snipes developing and improving the website and DExUS working hard to resolve software bugs, increase security and handle our testers requests for features.
